> 6 replies recommended consultation with a naturopathic doctor
> 4 replies recommended seeking help from (apparently) more
traditional medical practitioners; 1 of these suggested a
combination of natural and traditional practitioners (which we
were already doing)
> 2 replies recommend maintaining a degree of skepticism for
traditional medical practitioners
> 2 replies mentioned the possible connection between CD, these
symptoms, and Addison's disease. Our son tested negative for
Addison's in the Spring
> 2 replies noted similar symptoms in themselves or kids, and
wanted to be sure this summary was posted
> 2 replies recommended ADRENAL FATIGUE; THE 21ST CENTURY STRESS
SYNDROME by Dr. James Wilson.
* One reply recommended Siberian Ginseng as a means of supporting
the adrenals and other body systems
* One reply suggested an alternate Forum for posting this question:
the Delphi CD Forum at http://tinyurl.com/57nov
* One reply went into a lot of detail regarding the relationship
between the adrenals and kidney function which can cause the body
to be rapidly depleted of salt. This person also recommended
looking out for other food sensitivities, "occult infections" like
a root canal, and levels of feritin and serum iron. They also noted
the possibility that minute levels of gluten exposure could be
setting off adrenal crashes, which should diminish over time
* One reply suggested that hormone replacements might help
* One reply asked if our son has a pituitary tumor
* One reply said that Isocort seemed to have helped with similar
symptoms
* One reply noted a connection between dairy/casein and migraines
* One reply suggested/asked(?) whether caffeine would react in
a similar fashion to Ritalin (calming as opposed to stimulating)
the adrenals. They thought this might be worth investigating,
not necessarily attempting.
* One post pointed out that the adrenal glands produce approx.
50 different hormones, and that if fatigued or depleted, the
symptoms can vary considerably from person to person. They
suggested that adrenal gland extracts are probably the safest
way to go in the absence of knowing exactly what a person's
glands are doing, because extract contains a tiny amount of
everything in a physiological balance.
