Rick,
The next time I have a [running] 2/3/486, I'm going to spray the bugger with a good quality brake cleaner, then see
if it still runs and/or smells. ( It won't be running when I spray it, of course <g> ).
I use Q-tips dipped in Isopropanol Alcohol-(99%), for smaller surfaces - i.e.. fans, drive surfaces, heat sink,
etc. Seems to work nicely. hth
