Well, more has transpired since I sent that email a couple of days ago. Now
I see I have 4 My Pictures folders, and I believe 3 of them are to be
expected in XP. (One under the My Documents at the top of the tree, that is
usually 'hidden' from view, one that is under Documents and Setting in My
Documents, and one under User's Documents way down in the bottom of the
'tree'. One of the things I don't like about XP....all the mirroring with
duplicate folders, but maybe that's part of what makes it more stable?)
Anyway, I somehow got a 4th My Pictures folder, (equal with User in the
tree), and when I save more pictures, they're only going into that folder,
and not mirroring over to the others. (I have the feeling the 4th one must
have come from my old Win98 system data, when the computer store loaded the
new one. One of the drawbacks of not doing it yourself. You're not sure
what they did, or if it's the way you'd think it would be. My own fault, I
should have examined everything more closely before I did a thing.)
What I'm planning, is burn it onto a CD, as well as one of the other 3
duplicate My Pictures folders. Then I will try to save all the contents of
that old My Pictures folder into the new one. I believe it will tell me
there are duplicate files/pics, and I can just tell it to replace them.
That way, I should have everything that's extra in the old file included in
the new one and anything that's not in the old one will stay in the new one.
Someone tell me, if you see an error in my thinking here.
