I read many years ago a hypothesis that males had high iron that contributed
to the higher rates of heart disease.

I have given blood off and on for many years and find that it is a good way
of contributing to public health as well as reducing blood iron levels.
Blood letting has been practiced by both primitive and civilized people and
is believed to be safe and healthy for the donor.

I would encourage you to consider the alternative of donating blood.
