Hi everyone:

I have been doing well. A week or so before Christmas, I traveled from
Washington state to Missouri to see my boyfriend (not sure if I said that I
had one). It has been an absolutely joyous time, and I haven't had some of
those gut feelings of having to flee as I have with past dating scenarios.
Anyhow, life is going well.

I am supposed to get my dog back on Monday. He dropped about ten pounds in
one week, and so has been at the school to be monitored. I have been
without him for nearly two months!
I was supposed to be traveling home at this point, but the routes from
Kansas City to Denver have been canceled, and the routes from Denver to
Sault Lake City, Utah have also been canceled.

I have to go through both in order to get home and figured that it would be
wiser to stay in a warm house than get stuck in Kansas city where the
burgers are microwaved in front of you and it costs $5 to eat. Ick!

I have been thinking about you all, and praying over many posts.

Please keep me in your prayers. I was supposed to have left last night to
be home by tomorrow night, but with delays and cancelations, I don't know
what to do. Also, Greyhound doesn't know when the services will be starting
and I'm just unsure of whether I should try to get to Kansas city at all.
I'm four hours away and would take a bus from Joplen to Kansas City. I'm
not sure if I should try it and hope that things will be sorted out soon, or
if I should try to wait it out.

Originally, I had made my travel plans so that I'd be able to run our
Peninsula Council of the Blind's meeting. I am president of the chapter and
Saturday will be elections.
There is no way that I'll be home in time, so my vice president will have to
run the meeting. I have never missed a meeting ever since I moved out to
Washington nearly four years ago. One of the offices up for election is
mine, and it would have been nice to be there. But this is something that
is beyond my control, so there is no use in worrying about it now.

In any case, that's the story with me! If you have some advice, like
waiting it out for a few extra days or whatever, I would greatly appreciate
it. I don't want to be stuck in a station, but I don't want to wait
unnecessarily, either. Also, the windchill is minus five! So cold!!

Hugs,
Meka
