Having not watched the news until last night, the thing that amazed me was
some footage showing instead of a 30 foot wave (what I had imagined had
happened) in Sri Lanka, it was more that a small looking wave was coming
into shore and just decided not to stop, hence why people were still hanging
on the beach as it rolled in.  At least you can get to the second fllor with
relative ease now.
