Hi John,
Well, I received a Kenwood MT-G707 for Christmas. It has the voice chip
installed and the voice is very clear.
I now have just a few basic questions. Can I as a blind person go into the
menu and activate the mike? If so, how do I do this? Next I need a layout
of the buttons on both the radio and mike. I've learned what a couple of
them do, but I don't know very many yet.
If you have a quick start guide and the manual already scanned that you
could send, I'd appreciate it very much.
I think I'm going to love this radio.

The radio does have the pad on the mic to run the radio and all, but you'd
have to enable that in the menu though if you have some one else install the
voice chip, I'm sure they'll do that for you if you ask, once that's done
you're in great shape with that radio, go to www.icanworkthisthing.com or
ask me and I'll email you the manual, quick guide and all that, read through
that quickly and you should be up and running very fast, if you have the
TH-F6A, a lot of the functions work the same way and you're well on your way
already. I don't know the model of the radio shack speaker but if you go to
one and ask for the one for the CB radios, not the amplified one, you'll
find out why when you get it, it's kind of loud already some times, but just
ask for the one for CB radios or if you go to the web site, look under CB
radios and there's a speaker listed there that will be the one, not the
amplified one though, make sure of that. It costs $14.95 and is well worth
it I've had a few to them since my CB radio days and for scanners and
UHF/VHF FM radios, there's nothing that sounds better or even as good that
I've found yet.
