The chicken fat I bought is Empire brand. When I looked at the
ingredients, I saw that it has BHT in it.

Is the dreaded "BHT" some sort of paleo beast with which I am
unfamiliar, or is it some sort of modern newfangled food additive to
be avoided?

I'm guessing the latter, but I really don't know what it is.
