There are all sorts of sauces you can use if you want
something on your food. My favorites right now are
homemade olive oil mayonnaise and almost-pesto made
with mustard greens instead of basil (no cheese, of
course). A dash of plain old olive oil isn't bad
either. (To be honest, I have reservations of the
paleo-ness of any separated oils. But it doesn't keep
me from using olive oil on occasion. I do avoid
canola and nut oils, though, because there's no need:
I save meat fat for sauteing, and eat the nuts or nut
butters.)

Some people do use butter: if you can do without it,
though, I'd avoid it until you have adjusted to eating
paleo and are feeling good - then try it if you like
and see if it affects how you feel.

Andrea
