My mom still has stuff from my dad in her basement.  It takes about a year
or so before people can even think about giving their loved one's things
away.  In the future, she'll probably have a friend help her get things
scored away.  My niece and sister-in-law helped my mom give my dad's clothes
to the Salvation Army and to people in the nursing home he was in.
