Ruth,

 From a safe distance Dryvit looks, or is supposed to look, like stucco.
  But of course, if you are looking at exterior stucco in Vermont, and
its on anything but a serious Georgian mansion, especially if its on a
cutsey development house or a commercial strip mall...its Dryvit.
Don't go too close without a repirator and gloves.
