I have a Radio Shack htx-420 duel bander.
It has a sma connector.
I strengthened the connector by adding a flat washer to the connector and
then screwed the BNC adapter on top of the washer.
It really made a difference, and doesn't appear to have any effect on the
SWR.
I guess I will be looking for a second handheld because I can't seem to find
the computer cable for this rig.
The manual talks about the cable, and I guess they want you to build it.
The htx-420 is very easy to program, but  PL tones are tough.
