Figured I'd reply here, because others might want the data.
Their is a cd writer in windows XP which works very well for data, and now
with media player 10, I am having luck with audio.
Here is what you do.

1.  Select the files and folders that you want to copy to CD.  No matter if
it is a CD-R or CD-RW.
2. Copy the selected files to the clipboard.

3. Open the drive from which you will burn the files and folders.
4. Now close that drive.
5. Highlight the drive, and press the context or application key.  It's the
same key with different names depending on your screen reader.
6. Up arrow through the many choices you have there.
7.  The one you want is "burn the files to CD.
8.  Press enter there and follow the cd writing wizard.  That's all their
is to it.
It's basically like copying files and folders to a floppy disk.
