It shouldn't take you to the same place, recording volume should be
completely separate from the playback which is in accessories,
entertainment, or in the system tray, if you're doing it from recording in
echolink, make sure the mic is in fact plugged in to the mic jack and not
the line in, make sure the mic jack is selected and if then, the level is
still too low, maybe the mic is no good.
