Hi everyone, in a couple of weeks I will be traveling to a part of the state
that has some action and users on a frequency that an older HT I have is
tuned to. It is an old Motorola Expo 2-channel portable, and it has the
pager function available on it, and I can switch the radio to act as a pager
rather then an HT. The problem I have is that when I have traveled to areas
where I have some things to monitor with this radio I can't seem to figure
out what tones the radio is set to activate on.
I got this radio when my local PD switched to 800 MHz trunking, and I
would like to do a lot, bujt realize that I may not be able to do anything
with the radio only having two channels, but in some areas of Michigan our
old VHF freqs have some users especially our old fire freq of 154.445, and
many of these users tone out. Has anyone been able to determine what the
sequence is for this older radio and what it may be set to, and I am also
wondering if there has been anyone who has modified this rig to work on
2-meters? Like I said I usually take advantage of this radio during the
summer when we have a lot of tropo openings or when I travel to areas where
I know that there are some users using the frequencies that this radio has.
Any information would be great, and thanks in advance.
