Yes, Remove the plastic covering the heat sensitive pad.
Be careful to NOT touch the pad with your fingers,
or where the pad will touch the CPU... (The oils from
your fingers will cause the pad to fail...)
Orient the CPU correctly when placing in socket.
There is either an arrow on one corner, or a missing pin or so...
Make sure the FAN faces the correct way when installing.
(There has "always" been a notch it must clear...)
Plug the fan in the correct FAN socket on the MB. Some
have a protection circuit that will force the computer off
if the fan is not detected correctly...
