Thank you for taking the time to respond, they say ASUS motherboards are
top notch. Hmmmm.... bought 2 and have had to return both.
Thanks again...

I had the same problem with an Asus P4SDX MB. After interchanging
numerous
good components, the problem was narrowed down to a faulty MB. Sometimes
MB's are just bad out of the box. The final check is to try the MB out
of
the case with only known good CPU, known good memory, known good power
supply, and known good video card connected/in place (I ended up with
two
computers in pieces side by side with wires going between each one).
Also,
clear the CMOS through a jumper on the MB (see the MB manual). If
nothing
happens except fans running and a light on on the MB, the evidence
points to
a bad MB. Seek an RMA and, when returned, your supplier should have the
equipment to run a final check of the MB. Mine was replaced and
everything
worked good on the second MB and I am happy with it.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [PCBUILD] No Post to Monitor
I purchased the Asus P4G8X motherboard, after assembly, I am not able to
get
the PC to POST. Thinking I may have a bad video card, I changed it out
with
a known good one with negative results. The board comes pre-configured
with
sound enabled so instead of listening for beeps, you would hear a
message
instead, such as "Boot successful, loading Operating System" if the POST
was
successful, if not then you would hear a error message. In my case I
hear
nothing at all. I have disconnected the HDD, CD-ROM, then tried booting
with
negative results. I tried resetting the RTC (real time clock) jumper and
still negative resuts. R&R the RAM as well . . .
Any suggestions?
