In addition, I saw feedback from someone who has used the latest eddition 
and the improvements seem real enough and are reflected in less crashing and 
more snappiness for him.  quicker and more stable in other words.

I've been using voiceover with ITunes for  quite some time.  Access was much
improved though with the release of ITunes 8.0.

I'm not sure if the 8.0.2 release of iTunes that adds "Voice Over"
capabilities is significant or just hype. Is anyone using iTunes with
a reader now? Does it seem like a good direction for Apple or is it
smoke and mirrors?
