I could use some help regarding medicine for my 8 year old who has
celiacs. She is sick with bronchitis and the doctor and myself (I am a
RN) unsure what meds. she can have. Thank goodness she hasn't needed any
antibiotics in 2 years but the last time she did we gave her 1 EES tablet
and she went into a celiac crisis for 3 days of the usual abdominal pain
then diahrrea for 3-5 days. When I called the company after a long
process it seems they put alcohol in the outer coating of the pill but
the M.D. in the lab felt most of it should have evaporated off but
obviously it didn't. I know my daughter is very sensitive to any gluten
but there must be some antibiotics out there she can take without getting
sicker. I was told by someone to stick with the liquid antibiotics? I
really could use some advice and or opinions on this as soon as possible.
THANK-YOU Cindy
