It is possible that the bad diskette may have damaged the head mechanism on
the floppy drive. If that is the case, you will be damaging any diskettes
that you insert into that drive. It is not practical to repair a floppy
drive these days because they have become so inexpensive. However, I have
also seen floppy drives act bad because of a label or something else having
become stuck inside. In that case, you may carefully open the drive case,
usually a lift off thin metal cover, and check for any foreign object.
