I slept for five and a half hours straight last night for the first time in
a very long time. I had to get up then because I drank a can of pop before
going to bed so you know what that means. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been
surprised if I had gone 7 hours straight. In fact, I was so wide awake at
5:30, it took me a good 30 minutes, or more, to go back to sleep. I was
tempted to stay up because I felt so good. Unfortunately, I can't remember
dreaming. I could make one up, however, for those interested in my dreams.
It also took a little adjusting during the night but it was much better than
in the hospital and the dream machine is also very quiet. So, now that I am
not afraid of it, I am sure I will get better use out of it. With the
larger mask over my mouth and nose, and the hose running from it out the
front and over to my night stand, I rather feel like I am flying a jet
fighter so that's what I pretend I am doing while going to sleep. I've
always wanted to be a fighter pilot anyhow. I have a sleep tape I made once
that sounds like a jet flying fast and high. Maybe I should get that out
and listen to it at night. I have also figured out that I can use the hose,
since it is six feet long, to rope round Sandy to keep her closer to me at
night. It works well for that, too.
Phil.
