The technology exists, but USB wasn't designed to work that way and so
there's more to it than just plugging in a standard cable.
USB was designed to connect one computer as "master" to a bunch of devices
as "slaves". The master supplies not only control signals but also *power*
to the USB bus.
So it takes some combination of special cable and software to make a
working PC-to-PC USB connection. This is a case where I would buy a
commercial package rather than try to re-engineer it myself.
