Hi Kristina,
I think you will start feeling much better if you cut back on the cardio.
I believe that doing cardio after lifting to failure is counterproductive.
You are asking way too much of your body. You are already very slim -- I
also think your carbs are way too low for someone doing so much exercise.
I don't want to get into a lot of arguments about how carbs aren't
necessary -- BUT Eskimos and other all meaters aren't pushing themselves at
the gym on a daily basis. And yes, I've read all the stuff about how after
a period of adaptation, a ketogenic diet proves superior for endurance
exercise. However, you are mixing high intensity with endurance exercise.
There are some virtual all-meat eaters posting at dragondoor.com (at least
there used to be -- two were Steve Maxwell and his wife DC
www.maxercise.com for example-- extraordinary athletes who eat virtually
all meat/fat but do NOT overtrain) -- In any event, my point is that what
you are currently doing isn't working (you feel tired, burned out adrenals,
low cortisol) -- therefore, try not doing any cardio on your weighlifting
days except for maybe some walking afterwards. I would suggest a carb-up
with tubors every few days if you insist on sticking to your rigorous
exercise routine. Try it for a few weeks and see if you feel better. PS:
You can be extremely slim and workout like a demon, but the lack of tone on
the legs in your case sounds to me like a hormonal issue. You are breaking
down faster than your body can recuperate. If you have low testosterone
and dhea-s levels -- you will look flabbier no matter what kind of exercise
you do.
