So I go out on our deck to sit in the porch swing to pray this afternoon. I
knew it was supposed to be in the mid eighties today, according to the
radio, so big deal. I mean, in Colorado, there is usually a little breeze
and it always, no matter what, cools way down at night so you never need
cooling on during the night hours. After about 15 minutes, I say, I'm too
old for this sort of heat. Besides, there was no breeze so what's the deal?
I get up, come in, and check the temp. In the 15 minutes I was outdoors, it
had gone up four degrees. Now it is 92 freaking degrees out and this is
only June, for crying out loud. God certainly can't expect an old timer
like me to pray in that kind of heat. So the rest of my time with the Lord
has been postponed to a cooler time of the evening. How's that for
Christian dedication? Wouldn't you like someone like me in your church?
Talk about faithfulness.
