Matt,
I'm not keeping tabs so, please, put your mind at ease about that. I'm
basing my comments only on what you have shared openly. Paul is right
though in saying that we are all in this together and that part of being
a Christian is encouraging each other in our walk with the Lord,
correcting course when needs be and comforting one another as needed. In
Hebrews, we are told, "Let us consider how we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some
are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the
more as you see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25, Also, I have
encouraged you to continue to study the word of God in the bible because
we are told in 2 Timothy 3:16 that, ""All scripture is God breathed and
is useful for teaching, rrbuking, correcting and training in
righteousness, so that the man of god may be thoroughly equipped for
every good work." Matt, we're not called to simply live good lives or to
get by, we're called to become like Christ and develop a mind like His.
That's why Paul and I have been such sticklers about doing what's right.
Because we are challenged to do so. "Be imitators of God, therefore, as
dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us
and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Ephesians 5:1-2. We all blow it, but then we need each other for reality
checks. I just hope and pray that this makes some sense.
Anyway, I find your questions and explorations exciting. Thank
you for being so open in your exploration of the faith.
In Him,
Kathy
