More then likely, the USB adapter is just an USB to serial adapter, no
serial port but it probably counts as a com port though I couldn't tell you
which one, I use the serial cable and a USB to serial adapter since my
Kenwood cable is serial and my FT-51 programming cable are both Serial,
that's what worked best for me, hope I helped you somewhat, plug the cable
in and look in control panel, system under com ports in device manager and
see if that helps. Also, I think that USB cable only works in windows XP.
