Hi Don,

I think the antenna you are thinking of is the B&W BWD1.8-30 Folded Dipole.
This is a good antenna for all uses, will work its share of DX on the bands
40-10 including the WARC bands but is not a DX antenna on 80. However, it's
a good antenna for regional work on 80. I never had much luck getting it to
radiate much on 160 but it will resonate there. I think it was every bit as
good and perhaps better on the higher bands than a G5RV

Good luck and very 73.

Kevin :)

Subject: hf wire antennas

A few months ago I asked about wire antennas for the hf bands; specifically
multiband antennas hopefully from 40 thru 10 including 30 18 and 12 meter
bands.
80 would be good too although the usable bandwidth would probably be rather
narrow there.

Some people mentioned an antenna from B and W, but rather than saving the
messages, I seem to have erased them.

Could someone please refresh my memory? Also, any thoughts and/or
comparisons against the g5rv?

I'm not really keen on a vertical here and do have a reasonable sized lot to
play with, so am really looking for something in an inverted vee
configuration.

I'll definitely save the messages this time! Promise!! <grin>

Thanks,

Don W6SMB
