    Anthony:

I have to admit that the thought about the finals being gone was one of the
first things that crossed my mind, but it transmits fine on 440. Also, even
if the finals were gone, wouldn't the rig transmit at least a minimal
amount? That happened to my old HTX202 once, and I could still hear
transmissions from the rig if I held another radio up within several feet of
the damaged rig. In this case, my son and I hear absolutely nothing when he
tries to transmit, and I try to monitor his transmissions at close range
(i.e. within several feet) with another radio.

These are just my thoughts.
