Witha ll the people I know that use astron supplies, have shorted them and
they still work, I'd say you were unlucky, only problem anyone I know has is
on some of the real old ones from the 80s, the on/off switch went bad but
they usually either have them plugged in to a serge protector strip like I
do and use the switch on that, which I don't, or they leave them on all the
time as I do.  My switch is good though last I checked I just leave mine on
all the time for my always on packet station though I had it all off when
they were working on the house a couple weeks ago.
