I'm seeing that right now. I rebuilt my main system here, keeping the old
floppy drive but not much else. One thing I did replace, though was the
floppy cable, replacing a ribbon with one of the new round cables.
Since the motherboard is keyed, the drive is keyed, and the cable is
keyed, and the drive worked with a previous motherboard and cable, I'm
suspicious that the new round cable might not be wired/keyed correctly.
Could this be your situation?
