I've heard a ton of horror stories from Kenwood east,  definitely don't send
anything there, either send it west or go to www.eham.net and in product
reviews section look for amateur radio service, that will give you good
places to send it if you don't want to send it to the west coast, there is
one in NY or NH that's rated good but I can't remember the name right now.
