because there really is no standard for plugs officially for that stuff, as
well as it helps you hook up what ever you want to it though many of us use
the Anderson power poles, just make a short run of wire off the power
supply with a power pole on it if you want to only use 1 radio or as I did,
I got a device called the rigrunner made and sold by west mountain radio in
CT, kind of pricy but it allows for plugging in many things to a strip of
Anderson power poles, all outlets fused and everything, I converted over to
that setup a short time ago and it was by far the smartest thing I've done
in a long time, my mobile can run in the house and vice versa, my portable
stuff will be setup that way so if my power supply dies, the smaller one for
portable can take over in a pinch, that really should be the official
standard but it's only the standard that I know of, in RACES/ARES.
