Greetings:

The two best magnification software packages are Zoomtext and Magic. Make
sure you get demo CDs for both programs and try them out. The demo CDs are
free. They are fully functional programs accept they time out. I use them
both.

Magic: http://www.freedomscientific.com.

Viewsonic is your best choice for a monitor. They are good quality monitors
and they are competitively priced. You will want to go with their
"Professional Series" line. The line has a "P," "PS," or "PF" in the model.
The "PF" indicates that it uses a flat screen. Do not confuse this with the
"flat panel" monitors. You can find Viewsonic monitors in almost any
computer store or office supply store. You will only find the professional
series monitors in the hard core computer stores. You will want to try a 19
inch first. The jump in price from 19 inch to 20 or 21 is significant. I
do not recommend the flat panel monitors. They look cool, but you cannot
get up close to them and get a good view of what is on the screen. They are
like a projection screen television somewhat. You have to sit further away
from the projection screen television to get your best picture. It is hard
to see at that distance when you are visually impaired. Here is the web
site.

Hope this helps.
