I had a similar problem with an XP + XP share. It turned out that I could not
see the XP machine (in Network Places) from the 98 even though the drive
(in this case) was appropriately shared. While I could not create a new Network
Place with the wizard, right-clicking on Network Places and mapping a drive
produced the necessary results.
