I have a 480 and absolutely love the radio!!!
Power out, mike gain, processor level, vox delay, status of the 60 menus,
power out, and s-meter along with frequency and mode all talk.
I have heard about the control head but I don't know why you'd want it. I
put my control head on the coffee table with the paddele and mike, the rig
sits on a shelf above the radio desk. The only criticism IO have, is that
it would be nice if the mike and paddle pluged into the head rather than
the radio. I expect they ran out of wires.
They sell a shielded rj45 cord to extend the mike, and the paddle is easy.
It's 100 watts 160 through 10 and 50 watts on 6 meters.
25 watts on AM and FM.
Their is a double the power version, but you loose the internal antenna
tuner, which is surprizingly broad.
It has become my primary receiver for SWL broadcast band as well as Ham radio.
