    Eric:

I just got a First Alert WX167 public alert radio that is programmed to
receive all of the typical weather alerts, plus alerts for other kinds of
hazards and the like.

You can program the radio to either display the alerts visually, or sound a
warning siren when the alerts occur.

I am very happy with the First Alert radio. The price is around $79, but
it's well worth it in my opinion.

Programming the various counties into the radio is also quite easy, since
you enter the county name, and it automatically puts the county code in for
you.

Hope this helps.
