When I get some appetite back this morning I will try the papaya thing.
I think there's a tin in the pantry- not exactly fresh fruit but it
will have to do. We've got some bananas but I really don't have a
taste for them now. I haven't had a fizzy drink for longer than I can
remember- the sugar messes me up in various ways. Although having said
that, right now I'm sipping ginger and honey tea I got from a chinese
shop. (I should be going to work, but it's hard to be a postman when
you need the toilet every half hour.) I read somewhere that ginger is
good for the digestive tract, but I imagine it'd be hard for anyone not
to feel perked up after something this sweet.
As for probiotics (Kristina's suggestion)... well the thought of
swallowing more bacteria is really, *really* not appealing right now,
no matter how friendly they are. Maybe in a day or two. Also, all the
ones I've seen advertised are milk or yoghurt drinks, which is a big
no-no for me.
