Depends on what sort of animals we are. Lions clearly don't need carbs
for high intensity anaerobic activity, and neither do any other
carnivore that utilizes an ambush strategy. Wolves on the other hand
run down prey over long distances but also don't use dietary carbs to
do it.
Humans are omnivores and do nicely exercising on either high carb or
high fat diets. My own experience with high fat diets shows that I do
well exercising on them.
