I increased the amount of fish oil I was taking after reading this book. I
think the little section(s) that mention that fish oil can lower the immune
system applied to me. Hadn't been sick in a few years even when eating SAD
(felt kind of chronically awful then, but seldom caught anything going
around), and then from seemingly out of nowhere I was struck down three
times with colds this fall.

My arthritis also got worse in general while high-dosing. I think I was
killing off too many of the good things along with the bad. I say this
because I splurged one night and ate a bowl of oatmeal that Sears recommends
and had MUCH less pain the next morning. GLA. I wasn't experimenting or
anything, just out-and-out splurging, but the reduction in pain was so
incredible it couldn't not be noticed and the dietary connection was easy to
make since I was otherwise keeping very paleo.

Doing high-anything risks putting something out of balance.
