Don,
I recently put up a Cobra Ultralite Senior, and it has worked quite well
for me. It's basically a folded dipole about 130 feet long, fed with
450-ohm ladder line terminating in a 4-1 balun. It's fairly wide band
since it has no traps, and it works quite well on all bands when operated
through my automatic antenna tuner. The SWR gets a little high if I don't
use the tuner, but that's not a problem since I always have the tuner in line.
Due to poor band conditions, I haven't used it much on anything above 20
meters, but where I have used it, it seems to perform quite well. It's a
very quiet antenna, and I've sometimes thought it was broken, only to
discover that it was just lousy band conditions. The bottom line: if I
can hear it, I can work it, and I get a signal report equal to what I'm
hearing. You can find some reviews of it on www.ehams.net.
