we will be traveling to Hong Kong and Beijing in june with our 10 year old celiac.  does any one have any suggestions?

we will be staying with my sister in HK (with a short side trip to Beijing) who speaks the language fairly well and we will have many meals at her place.

she has located a health food store in HK that has several of his favorite GF items so she will have them on hand.

has any one had trouble packing GF items in their luggage?  we have never traveled internationally before.  do food items cause problems with customs or who ever?
