Has anyone worked with discussion forum software that is accessible, both for those using the system and those administering it?

I visited the site for Documentum, the company that recently acquired ERoom (a popular discussion forum software package, I am told), and was discouraged to note an accessibility blooper straight off. When tabbing around the page, certain navbar links disappear from view as they get gain focus: the font colour and background colour are the same.
