We are planning a vacation next Jan/Feb for our 10 year anniversary that is actually this October, but want to get away in the winter time. I'm not for sure where we are going so that is part of my question.

I have a real issue with trusting people to cook for me so I either eat at home before we go or eat after we get home unless it is to the grill-your-own steakhouse so that my husband can "watch" my food. Because of this, this vacation is going to be a HUGE step for me to take anyway.

My husband wants to go somewhere to golf and I want to snorkel--I'm hoping to be able to do this in the same spot so we can go together! :-) LOL I know that Hawaii is beautiful and would love to go there, but I don't know if I can get my husband to be on a plane for 11 hours or not. He would like to go some place closer. I also know that Mexico would be a wonderful place too, but because of this diet and my worrying anyway about having to trust someone I really don't want to have to deal with the water situation.

I'm wondering where you have gone and have had a wonderful experience both with the activities and with the food.

My next step I think is Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but have yet to check into this to see if there is snorkeling there--obviously there is golf so am wondering if any of you have ideas on this destination.

I am going to try to expand my horizons before the trip in trusting people. I have started--I eat the McDonald's grilled chicken sandwich now! :-) I had usually just stuck to Wendy's baked potatoes.

Thanks a million for the info in advance--I know that I will get lots of good advice on how to deal with restaurants, etc. while on vacation.
