It puts out 5 watts for a while, but not very long, then it drops to 3.5,
between myself, the emergency management center here, and a few friends not
to mention a couple reviews on eham.net,  it seems to be a characteristic of
the radio which is fine for me until I go away on vacation, where I am on
vacation, I need that 5 watts with a rubber duck to hit the repeater I like
there.  I'll tell you what though, I have the t90A set up in banks, with 1
bank used as a scanner for both here, and when I'm away and it makes a very
good scanner. I don't transmit as much on it as others but I do and it's not
a bad radio,  just I use most HT's on my deck and when I'm on my annual
vacation and both places though it's not as bad at home, that 5 watts is
important when I go away, here I can live with it but people can tell, I'm
in a major hole here and when I'm at the vacation spot I'm at ocean level
just about and on the wrong side of the bridge, next year I'll have an
antenna though, j pole or something.
