For the money I would choose an Intel based system. I prefer Intel as
opposed to others for reliability and performance.
I would like to suggest the following system for your review.
INTEL PENTIUM 4 478 SYSTEM
Details (ENLIGHT 7255; INTEL D865GBFLK; PENTIUM 4 3.0EG (800Mhz); 1GB PC3200
memory (512MBX2); MITSUMI 1.44 FDD
INTEL BOXD865GBFLK INTEL 865G CHIPSET SERIAL ATA150 ATX FORM FACTOR
1xAGP(8X)/6xPCI/4xDDR W/INTEGRATED VGA,SATA,LAN(Gb),USB 2.0 & AUDIO
BENQ CB482B 2.4X/DVD+R DOUBLE LAYER 16X4X16/DVD+-RW 40X24X40X/CD-RW USB 2.0
WD 120GB WD1200JB EIDE ULTRA-ATA/100 7200RPM SE W/8MB BUFFER HARD DRIVE
(Bare drive) (NO DATA CABLE)
You didn't say if you will require anything else such as a monitor, keyboard
or mouse... These items would add a little to the overall cost as you know.
I use this basic system for my clients and have been doing so for several
years. The machine is stable, middle of the road and hasn't presented any
problems. Well, except for operator error that is.
Sincerely,
Frank Suszka
