Although speed is not your main concern, you might want to see if you can
find one of those slot PIIIs for this motherboard, especially if you were
planning on running WinXP.
Although this would be a bit more on the experimental, than rock solid
stable, side, you can also get a socket to slot adapter, which will let you
use a PIII socket processor, if it is meant to run on a 100 MHz frontside
bus. These might be a little easier to come by than a slot PIII. I'm
running an old Abit BH6 motherboard, which also uses the 440BX chipset, with
an Asus slotket and a PIII 750.
Officially, this board supports up to 384 MB of memory (3x128), but I think
the chipset actually is capable of more than that. The main thing will be
to find lower density memory modules which this motherboard will know what
to do with. Look for SDRAM that is advertised as backward compatible with
these older mothernboards.
The AGP slot is an older 1x or 2x version slot, which means that it is 3.3v.
You'll need to make sure any AGP video card you use is either of that
generation or backward compatible with these older and higher voltage slots
(current slots and cards are 1.5v). Of course, a PCI video card would be no
problem, either.
