I have an HP Compaq NX9010 laptop. Last week the fn-F1 and fn-F2 keys for
changing the display panel brightness stopped working - they just function
as F1/F2 keys going to the current application. All other fn-keys, like
volume control, hibernation, etc work fine.

I can't find anything on the net about such a problem, and afaik there is no
utility for controlling or changing these key assignments. I suspect a
hardware/bios problem. I first noticed this after I connected a very old
data projector which didn't get recognised.

Running Windows XP Pro.

Any ideas?
