Matt,
I would never replace my regular bible with a chronological bible, but I
will say this, the bible came alive for me inways that I never expected
by reading it chronologically. It also helps to have a timeline and some
understanding of ancient history to see better how, especially, the
writings of the prophets fit into the historical writings.
Last year our entire church read through the bible
chronologically using the bible put out by Bruice Wilkerson's "Through
the Bible," organization. It was really helpful. Of course, there is
debate as to how certain parts of the bible fit together, but for a basic
understanding, this was really helpful.
