Sandy, I don't think dean MOrley was fooled. Of course, I explained to him
what I meant. I remember when I first started playing, my cheeks wanted to
pooch out. I had to learn to keep them in. It takes practice to develop
the facial muscles to from the right ombature. I would guess you will want
to start with number 2 reeds or even a bit lower. Your teacher will tell
you what to start with. Before playing, put the reed in your mouth to soak
a bit and get some moisture into it. Curl your lips in to cover your
teeth, scrunch your mouth around the mouth piece and rest the reed on your
bottom lip. I wish I were there to get you started with the fingerings for
the notes.
