I believe the standard of wythe is found in the BiBle so is construction using
Lime mortar ; here in the south..we have street and town names like kiln
,brick;lime ; as well as dead dog road;bullet hole; no tell; all right; and
the favorite of the  church ladies is a road with a few bars on it called
Fortification .....affectionately known as      "fornication" to the chuckles
and gafaws  of the blue rince set on the bible belt bus. regards Michael
